Leave dew covered footsteps as you step through the wild flowers; walk an old drovers path to the pub on Betws mountain; take a pause to smell the crushed leaves underfoot as you walk through dappled woodland shade; stop still as the birds orchestrate their evening display of flight; stare at the stars in the unpolluted night skies.
A stay at Gilfach Gower is an escape to nature, tranquillity and a sustainable way of farming life.

Gilfach Gower is a small working farm in Ammanford, Carmarthenshire. A coal mining town full of heritage and charm. The town has an excellent selection of restaurants, coffee shops, bars & pubs. The beautiful market town of Llandeilo is only 15 mins away, packed with visitor attractions and foodie delights. From the yurt you can see the Brecon Beacons, local nature reserves and the amazing beaches & coastline of Swansea Bay & the Gower are only a short drive away.
Our area is renowned for its cycling routes; mountain biking in the Brechfa Forest; lots of walks and hikes; and activities & experiences to fill every moment of your day. And at the end of the day… you get your own private hot tub bubbling away at 38degrees and with 12 jets to soothe you away whilst you stare at the stars.
The accommodation is sympathetic to nature, sitting happily in a wildflower meadow and guarded by native trees. We have taken great care to be as low impact as possible with sustainability and accessibility at the heart of what we do. Please ask Sarah about all the sustainability features!
You have your own private fully accessible shower room and your own fully equipped kitchen. Outside the yurt is a dining area with a beautiful hand made fire pit, perfect for toasting marshmallows.

It is stunningly peaceful and quiet… yet only 15 mins from the M4 motorway and 5 mins from the town centre. So no need to worry if you have forgotten some essentials.

Really enjoyed our stay here for NYE, location is perfect, hot tub was amazing and warm even in the winter! And the breakfast box was delicious and worth every penny! Sarah is an amazing host who was happy to show us around her farm and introduce us to the animals.

Thanks Sarah and Fed for such an enjoyable and relaxing weekend away, the place was beautiful and extremely peaceful. The facilities were great and your hospitality was top notch. We especially enjoyed the hot tub, petting the goats and the delicious Breakfast Box you provided. 100% will be looking to return and recommending to family and friends.
Kayleigh from Port Talbot
We had a truly memorable stay at Sarah’s yurt. The setting was ideal – lovely, private and peaceful, and the hot tub was great. The yurt and facilities were also great. Don’t miss out on the great home reared bacon and sausages. The location is ideal for exploring so much of this great part of Wales from the south coast to the Brecon Beacons and local gardens too. We are definitely hoping to stay again.

Something extra special
We can arrange a private yoga lesson with an experienced instructor from £35.
Why not pre-order our Breakfast box which include sausages, bacon, eggs (all from the farm), jams and other delicacies. £20 for two guests and usually enough for two mornings, depending how hungry you are!
Or our Barbeque box with a choice of beef burgers, lamb burgers, sausages, steaks, lamb chops, pork chops. Price depends on what you choose and comes with bread rolls and salad.
Why not ask Sarah for a tour of the farm during your stay and say hello to all the animals. Our border collie Midge enjoys coming along, but usually gets distracted by the sheep along the way! Sometimes Mildred the baby pygmy goat even tags along too!
If you are a party bigger than four and some of you don’t mind camping, we have an area in the same field as the yurt that can fit a large tent. Only available for the same party staying in the yurt. Price depends on number of extra guests. Just drop me a message for more info.
Please note the yurt is privately located at the top of a sloping field and is a short walk to the shower room, kitchen and parking area. Appropriate footwear is essential. Children are welcome, but as this is a working farm, they must be supervised at all times.
